2012 Goals
See what is in store for the new year! IGPA will be working hard to achieve every one of the goals below improving the quality of life for the grain community in Idaho.
- lead national efforts to create innovative ideas for federal farm policy benefitting Idaho agriculture;
- advocate for estate tax legislation that provides fair treatment for the unique situation of farmers;
- work with the State Legislature to maintain funding for Idaho grain research and crop scientists;
- continue to represent grain producers on many committees and coalitions tackling issues including the wildlife and crop depredation funds, dam breaching, endangered species, crop quality losses, and weather-related disasters;
- lobby for state and federal research dollars to address the development, quality, and performance of Idaho's wheat and barley varieties;
- build coalitions of industry in support of water rights, property rights, and privacy rights;
- defend growers from enactment of environmental legislation that does not provide a proven net economic benefit;
- continue to develop and support farmer-leaders across the state;
2010 Goals

- protect from funding cuts state programs vital to grain producers;
- continue to represent grain producers on many committees tackling issues like wildlife depredation to cropland, irrigation, commodity indemnity fund, dam breaching, endangered species, crop quality losses, and weather-related disasters;
- seek reform to federal crop insurance programs to better address producer losses on a farm-specific level;
- defend growers from enactment of environmental legislation that does not provide a proven net economic benefit.
2009 Goals
IGPA will be working hard to achieve every one of the goals below improving the quality of life for the grain community in Idaho.
- IGPA will ensure that Farm Bill programs will reflect Idaho’s priorities;
- IGPA will continue to be Idaho agriculture’s leader on transportation issues working
toward reduced transportation costs, better access, and more equitable funding mechanisms;
- IGPA will represent your interests in irrigation, crop depredation, insurance
improvements, input costs, and other priorities of production;
- IGPA will work towards the profitability of grain producers!
